Sunday February 25th, 1940 // Norma Jeane, Bill Heison, Bob Stotts, and Betty Duggen at Green Valley Lake.

On the way home, a large rock hurdled down the mountainside and hit the hood of their car – Norma Jeane, unaware of the danger of what happened, giggled from the backseat. When they told her how close she was to being hit with the rock had they been driving even a bit faster she replied \”My head\’s too hard. That old rock would have bounced right off and wouldn\’t have left a dent.\”
