March 1961 // North redington beach, FL

In March of 1961, Marilyn & Joe stayed at the Tides Hotel & Bath Club where they sunbathed, fished, and looked for seashells.

After not finding much privacy on the beach, they moved to a private rooftop where my new friend John Messmore (current owner of the Sweet Sage Cafe across from the Tides) served her an avocado and an iced tea with two lemons. I just met someone who met Marilyn!

The original Tides was demolished in 1996, so what stands today is a new reimagined Tides. But the beach is the same. 🌴
